Fucking fuck fuck, new state budget is cutting funding to Diploma of Auslan
So fucking angry right now, got to school and was told that my course (Diploma of Auslan) is being shut down at the end of this year. It’s the only course of it’s kind in VIC and the only other one like it is in Perth.
Don’t have the full details yet, but this is really fucked. Not gonna fucking happen.
For real if they cut off this course how will they train people to a level of fluency for interpreting courses? It’s going to reduce the numbers of qualified interpreters entering the workforce, which will impact on people’s access to education, medical attention, and I dunno, lots of fucking important information.
Fuck.
